Big Swing, No Ding Golf Club was established in 2019 by a group of idiot friends who thought, instead of actually joining a club and getting a registed Australian Golf Association handicap, they could sort it out themselves. Dickheads.

Initially they were stupid enough to think an average of their last 5 scores would work - at least as a rankings system - before they realised how volatile this was. So, they looked up the PGA way of measuring handicaps for amateur golfers, and assigned themselves a life time worth of trouble, hard work, annoyance and absolute hate from anyone who actually did it the proper way.

The first man to sit atop the rankings was none other than Nick Brown, who worked in the Pro Shop at Chatswood Golf Club. Naturally, proximity and access to golf shot him too far beyond the other boys, and he decided to renounce his membership to the group, allowing a disastrous flow of undeserving Number 1’s to scramble the ranks.

As time went on, the ratings system got more complicated. We tried doing it by official handicap, but that wasn’t volatile enough. Power handicap of last 5 rounds, that wasn’t volatile enough. Now we’re on a comparison of Power Handicap to Real handicap and that’s just fucking annoying.

We’re in a constant learning curve here at BSND, and we hate it.

We have two incredibly creatively named tours. Winter, and Summer. We’ve had one of each since Winter 2020, every year, EXCEPT 2023 when ZACHARY SCOTT forgot to organise one. Why, man?

I digress.

We shall continue to have tours until we have all passed away. Keep an eye on the Instagram feed for incredibly intermittent posts, and make sure you hit that like button. Or don’t. We don’t make any money off of this, just each other.
